title: Use AGNT5 in Claude
description: Connect Claude to the hosted AGNT5 MCP server to inspect runs, check deployments, and work with evaluations.
last_verified: 2026-09-30
---

The hosted AGNT5 connector lets Claude use your AGNT5 account through the [Model Context Protocol (MCP)](https://modelcontextprotocol.io/). It can inspect projects, deployments, runs, logs, prompts, datasets, and experiments. It also offers a few tools that change these resources, subject to your AGNT5 permissions.

This page is for the AGNT5-hosted connector. To connect Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or another MCP client to the same server, see [AGNT5 MCP](/docs/integrations/tools/mcp.md). To import other MCP servers into agents you build with the SDK, see [Model Context Protocol](/docs/build/mcp.md).

## Connect

1. Sign up for or sign in to your AGNT5 account at [app.agnt5.com](https://app.agnt5.com).
2. In Claude on an individual plan, open **Customize → Connectors**, select **+ → Add custom connector**, and enter `https://mcp.agnt5.com/mcp`. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an organization owner must first add that URL under **Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web**; then members can connect under **Customize → Connectors**.
3. Select **Connect** and complete the AGNT5 sign-in and authorization flow. The connector uses OAuth; do not paste an AGNT5 API key into Claude.
4. Enable AGNT5 for a conversation from the **+ → Connectors** menu. Claude can then call the tools available to your account.

A Directory listing is not required to add the server as a custom connector. The server uses Streamable HTTP at the public HTTPS URL above.

## What Claude can do

| Task | Example tools |
| --- | --- |
| Inspect a failure | `list_runs`, `get_run_summary`, `get_run_events`, `get_run_logs` |
| Check a deployment | `list_deployments`, `get_deployment`, `get_deployment_events`, `list_workers` |
| Review quality | `list_scores`, `list_experiments`, `compare_experiment_runs`, `list_prompts` |
| Change resources | `create_project`, `start_deployment`, `run_experiment`, `cancel_experiment_run`, `run_prompt` |

[AGNT5 MCP](/docs/integrations/tools/mcp.md#tools) lists every tool the connector offers. Traces, analytics, promotion, rollback, and authoring datasets, scorers, and prompts stay in Studio and the CLI.

Read tools use the access granted to your AGNT5 account. The five write tools create a project, start a stopped deployment, start or cancel an experiment run, or run a prompt, which the model provider bills. Review Claude's proposed tool call before approving a write.

## Example prompts

- “List my projects, then show recent failed runs in the payments project. For the latest failure, find the failing step and summarize the relevant logs.”
- “Show the current deployment status and workers for my staging project. Do not change anything.”
- “Compare the two latest experiment runs for my support-agent project and explain any regression. Do not start a new experiment.”
- “Show the versions of the refund prompt in my project and what changed in the latest one.”

You may need to give Claude the project or workspace ID when a tool requires it. Claude can usually find those IDs with `list_projects` and related list tools.

## Troubleshooting and support

- **Connector cannot be added:** Use the full `https://mcp.agnt5.com/mcp` URL. For Team or Enterprise, ask an organization owner to add the connector first. The endpoint must be reachable from Anthropic's cloud.
- **Sign-in fails or expires:** Disconnect and reconnect AGNT5 in Claude to repeat OAuth authorization.
- **A tool returns no data:** Check that your AGNT5 account has access to the requested project and that you selected the right project or workspace ID.
- **A write tool is denied:** Check your AGNT5 role and review the action Claude proposed. `start_deployment` needs the developer role or above.
